Jute — the most popular fibre for shibari ropes. Stiff at first but becomes beautifully smooth and pliable with use. Loved for its high tensile strength for its weight. Jute rope has a textured grip that bites into knots. Treated with a blend of camellia and jojoba oil, finished with overhand knots.
Linen-hemp — another popular rope for shibari. It's slightly heavier than jute, stronger and requires less maintenance.
Cotton — a soft, economical and maintenance free option. Ideal for those who want a wide range of bright colors and tying on the floor (or bed).
